The Catholic Church's stance against condom use has left some Hispanics at a higher risk of contracting HIV and AIDS. Some health studies show that Hispanic cancer patients see their affliction as their "destiny" or "God's will" and feel powerless to fight it.
Does religion hurt the Latino community more than it helps?
I think that its kinda bum to think that condoms are a higher risk in fact catholic people should know that they are trying to prevent some one from geting more hurt in many ways .....Im catholic and trust me i dnt think that way and i was not raised thinking that in fact i was raised that when it was the right time i would us protection with my partner

I THINK SOME PPL GET TOO INVOLVED WITH THEIR RELIGION BUT STILL IT DOESNT MEAN YOU SHOULD DO EVERYTHING THE RELIGION BELIEFS IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS JUST A FAITH LIKE ALL THE OTHER ONES IN THE WORLD BUT NO MATTER WHAT I THINK PPL SHOULD JUST TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION IS CAUSE YOU WOULDNT WANT YOUR HEALTH TO BE AT RISK OF ANYTHING SO PROTECT YOURSELF...

Why should Hispanics be a high risk if they don't use condoms? The Church also says you shouldn't be having premarital sex, if you're not promiscuous, you shouldn't have to worry about that.
Religion gives us something to believe, a high power to trust in, I can only seeing it help. It helps give courage, and strength. You shouldn't use religion as an excuse, ever.

personally people should consider using protection whether or not your religious in order to protect yourself and your health in general.
