Sergio Gomez of K-Paz De La Sierra was kidnapped and killed in 2007.

According to Mexican government officials, over 22,500 people have been killed by drug-related violence since Mexican President Felipe Calderón began his war on drug cartels in 2006. Among the victims are law enforcement officials, politicians and even musicians. Here are seven musicians who were unfortunate victims of drug violence in Mexico.

la violensia en el mun2 latino es lo mismo que mucho dinero la vida no tiene valor solo el dinero mientras exista el dinero va aver trajedias si se puede decir que algo o alguien tiene la culpa se sabe que el dinero no tiene la culpa pues no tiene vida sin los que asen lo que sea para tenerlo.1love GOMBY

Sad but its been the reality of Mexico for many decades. Culture, Music, money, the Drug Business tied together in some way or form. This slide show is only a few of the Mexicans, the list of dead counts for thousands and thousands and many of them innocent people. =(
What to do? Can society help, prevent?
Is the media to blame, or is this the nature of the business? =( questions that have been answered, issues changed and addressed and the violence continues..

Es tan triste que suceden cosas como estas...no importa en lo ande la persona, nadie merece morir de esa manera, just my personal opinion!...in my utopia, guns wouldn't exist. :/ but unfortunately in this world they're recommended. I have four REGISTERED guns, in which I know how to shoot very well :)) lol but i have them for my family's protection as well as my own. I wish I didn't have to but it's necessary now in days. Say no to war!! Peace people!! PAZ!!
