Why it's important to know: Metaphorical monkeys are in all novelas.

Why it's important to know: There are a lot of malditos in novelas that will make our heroes cry. A lot. -
El diablo es puerco [ehl dee-ah-blow ehs poo-err-koh]
proverb
1. The devil is a pig.
2. The devil is dirty.
Why it's important to know: It warns others of falling into temptation, which they most likely will, but it's nice to have a warning. -
Naca [naa-kah]
adjective
1. derogatory; usually a person who doesn't follow the cultural norm of behavior, expression and/or physical appearance.
2. Unsophisticated
3. Someone from a lower social economic class
Why it's important to know: The naca is usually the hero of the novela (before she inherits a million dollars and gets a makeover.) -
