Kristine Chapa, the 18-year-old from Texas who was shot in the head along with her 19-year-old girlfriend, Mollie Olgin (who died from her injuries), has been released from the hospital and is now in a rehab clinic. Chapa has made enough progress that she was able to help police update the sketch of the suspect, who may have shot the girls because they were Lesbian. "She’s doing awesome. One of the last days at the hospitals her friends were able to come and see her and she lit up," said her brother, Hilario Chapa.

Jorge Medina of La Arrolladora Banda El Limón, whose wife has reportedly ditched him after a naked picture of Medina was leaked to the Internet, appears to be joking about the situation: "Está horrible la foto, me he tomado mejores fotos que esa. No hay fotos más fuertes que esa. Esas las tengo en mi casa! (The photo is horrible, I've taken better ones than that one. There aren't any racier ones. I've got those at home.)"

What's going on between Lady GaGa and Kendrick Lamar? GaGa showed up to the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago to watch Lamar perform just days after the two were exchanging friendly tweets. "That's a real good friend... a real good friend," said Lamar when he was asked about the relationship. Lamar said there might be a chance for a collaboration, adding, "for now I just like the friendship thing."

Reggaetoneros Arcangel and Jowell & Randy are under investigation by the DEA after they performed at the wedding of Camilo "Fritanga " Torres, an alleged drug trafficker from Colombia who was presumed dead. DEA agent Pedro Janer: "This guy was a significant trafficker, and to find seven guys from Puerto Rico there, even though they claim they were working, or performing, that's fine, but it's not the typical venue."

Mexican President Felipe Calderón says Mexico's drug-related murders have dropped 15 to 20 percent in the first half of 2012 compared to last year: "It is higher than when I assumed the presidency, yes, but I insist it is a phenomenon that comes from the brutality and conflicts between cartels, and not precisely from the government’s actions." More than 50,000 people have died in drug-related violence since Calderón began his war on drug trafficking.
