    Drug-related violence in the Central American countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras has reached "alarming" levels, according to the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB). Honduras now has the highest murder rate in the world (82.1 murders per 100,00 people) followed by El Salvador (66 murders per 100,000 people).
  • For his 18th birthday, Justin Bieber got a sleek new $100,000 Fisher Karma car from his manager Scooter Braun and Usher. "You never get anything for yourself so Usher and I wanted to do this for you," Braun told him on Ellen. Like last year, Bieber plans to raise money on his birthday for Charity: Water, a nonprofit organization that provides clean drinking water to people in developing nations.

"I'm very sad and disappointed," said Phan, who grew up on South L.A. and whose two roommates are Latino. "I would never expect it to happen here in Westwood," said roommate Myra Ramirez, who is of Guatemalan and El Salvadoran descent.
