More than half of Latinos (52 percent) now support gay marriage, according to a poll by the Pew Hispanic Center. In 2006, only 31 percent of Latinos supported same-sex marriage.

Latinos in Maricopa County, the home of controversial Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio, are suspicious of county election officials after its office mistakenly printed the wrong election date on the Spanish-language portion of some voter registration cards. The election date was incorrectly listed as November 8 – two days after the actual election. The county election office claims only 50 registration cards (out of 2 million) were affected.

Cuba's government has published a letter from Fidel Castro in what appears to be a move to quell rumors of Castro's deteriorating health. It's the first time a Castro letter has been published since July. A Venezeulan doctor claims that Castro suffered a stroke and "recognizes absolutely no one."
