Christina Aguilera is threatening to sue MediaTakeOut.com after the gossip site ran a photo of Aguilera with her son Max, who had a black eye, with the caption "CHILD ABUSE???? CHRISTINA AGUILERA'S SON IS PHOTO'D WITH A BLACK EYE!!!" Aguilera’s attorney, Eric Greenspan: "Accusing a mother—even hinting that a mother is guilty of child abuse, that’s a line you don’t cross."

A U.S. commission charged by the Obama administration with investigating U.S. medical experiments in Guatemala conducted in the 1940s has found that 83 people died as a result, and more than 1,300 were deliberately infected with sexually transmitted diseases like syphillis and gonorrhea. Guatemalan President Álvaro Colom has called the experiments, which were hidden for decades until last year, a "crime against humanity."

In light of the casino fire tragedy in Monterrey, Mexico late last week that resulted in the deaths of 52 people, Mexican President Felipe Calderon again called on the U.S. to do more to tackle the American demand for drugs. The owners of the casino have yet to appear in public but did say, through a lawyer, that they won't pay damages to the families of the victims because the fire wasn't their fault.
